Exhibitions & Fundraisers

Limited edition framed prints of my photographic work is regularly exhibited in regional art galleries and other public spaces. Most recently these have included:

Alexander’s Cafe

Alexander’s Cafe in Dapto NSW is my ‘local’. The coffee is awesome, the food is yummy, the staff are super-friendly and the atmosphere is a perfect blend of vibrant conversation and relaxation. What more can you look for in a cafe!

Alexander’s Cafe also exhibits the works of local artists, and a beautiful aray of paintings and other artwork adorn almost every wall space. A number of my prints have also been on display there for the past year.

A massive thanks to Chase and his team at Alexander’s and, if you’re in the area, make sure you drop in and say hello. You might even see me in there enjoying a large long black coffee and a veggie breakfast.

It certainly is the best coffee in Dapto and is consistently good!

A Taste of Paradise Farm

Fundraising Shoalhaven staged a charity night to help A Taste of Paradise continue its great work with children aged five to 18, who are referred to its day programs by government child welfare workers and welfare agencies. The children spend time on the farm with the animals and the environment, being introduced to new skills while they are mentored and assisted to overcome the difficulties they are encountering in their lives. I was delighted to be able to donate one of my limited edition framed images to the fundraiser.

“The fundraiser was a complete sell out with over $10,500 of much needed funds raised to support our work with at-risk and disadvantaged young people.” Tim Francis, the CEO and co-founder of A Taste of Paradise with his wife Andrea, said “we are humbled by the generosity of everyone involved, those who organised, donated the venue and gave so generously toward prizes on the night, as every dollar counts when you run a charity on the smell of an oily rag”. Tim went on to say, “When people donate to this work, they are actually partnering with us in positively impacting the lives of at-risk and disadvantaged young people”.

The Shane Howard Trio played at the fundraiser, and I was delighted to be able to catch up with Shane again, and to be able to meet the other members of his trio. The music was sensational and the wine at Coolangatta Estate Winery was the delicious.

Blarney Books & Art

Although I do not currently exhibit any of my work at BLARNEY BOOKS & ART in Port Fairy, I wanted to mention this very special bookshop and gallery. The (official) book launch of Australia’s Birdwatching Megaspots book took place here, and I always drop in when I travel to Port Fairy.

Blarney Books & Art do stock a number of my book titles though, so please make a point of visting them if you are in Port Fairy, and maybe pick up a copy of one (or more) of my books while you are in there.

After the book launch I took a few minutes to interview our very special guest and MC Shane Howard, one of Australia’s true music icons and passionate social and environmental advocate. Shane’s band Goanna rose to international prominence in 1982 with their legendary song ‘Solid Rock’ from the incredible album ‘Spirit of Place’.

Shane has had a long and illustrious career, with 3 albums with Goanna, prior to his 13 albums as a solo artist since the mid 1980s. He is constantly working, touring throughout Australia (as well as overseas) and writing great songs!

You can view my interview with Shane in the window below or on my Youtube Channel.

Eagles Nest Fine Art Gallery

The Eagles Nest Fine Art Gallery in Airey’s Inlet, Victoria is a energising and beautiful gallery. I have been fortunate to have visited the gallery on a number of occasions during my travels through the region and exhibited a number of my limited edition prints there.

The most recent exhibition was during the fundraiser I conducted with Chris Farrell as part of the launch tour of our Australia’s Birdwatching Megaspots book in 2018.

Although I do not exhibit my work there on a permanent basis, I recommend you drop in and view the works of the so many talented local artists that Bruno has on display there – you will not be disapointed!

If you want to know what goes in to preparing for and setting up an exhibition, here is a time lapse video I made for the book launch and photographic exhibition fundraiser that Chris Farrell and I did at Eagles Nest Fine Art Gallery in November 2018.
