Red-necked Pademelon

Scientific Name: Thylogale theti
Size: Total Length 620–1,110 mm, including tail 300–510 mm
What does it look like?
The Red-necked Pademelon is generally brownish above, more rufous on forehead, neck and shoulders, and flecked with grey on back, thighs and tail. Belly off-white, becoming more white on chest and throat. Tail short, about 45 per cent of head-body.
Where is it found?
Coast and ranges of eastern mainland, from around Wollongong NSW to near Gladstone Qld.
What are its habitats & habits?
The Red-necked Pademelon inhabits rainforest fringes and wet sclerophyll forests, where it occupies dense vegetation during the day and feeds on grasses and leaves in adjacent open areas between dusk and dawn. Interesting fact: Often occurs in same areas as Red-legged Pademelon, but more crepuscular in open areas.
