I was absolutely stoked to find a box containing the advanced copies of the 2nd Edition release of “A Naturalist’s Guide to the Insects of Australia” on my doorstep last week. Books are due to hit the shelves in a few weeks, so it was so wonderful to get a sneak peek ahead of the ‘official’ release. I must thank the many wonderful people who have contributed to this latest release and it’s 1st Edition.

It is incredible to think that, since January 2017, there have been over 750,000 words written and reviewed, and over 5,000 images taken, edited and sourced from third parties within the eight book titles (including five second editions) I have been involved with for John Beaufoy Publishing, in conjunction with Australian Geographic. It has been an absolute delight to work with so many incredible co-authors (and lead authors), and the many contributing photographers and reviewers. Thank you!

As each new title is released, I feel so very humble. My book-writing journey has been a long and wonderfully rewarding one, and it has been incredible to have made so many acquaintances and friendships with like-minded people along the way. There are pieces of you all on every page.

I hope you enjoy reading this wonderful new edition as much as I enjoyed researching and writing it!
